The room was good, clean, spacious. We weren't here for the view, so looking out the window at another building was fine. The bathroom was big, but the sink had a ring of pink (bacteria?) in the caulking and the faucet had crusty build up, which wasn't noticeable until you looked from the bottom.”

“The California Hotel is my go-to when I want a reliable gaming getaway in Las Vegas. Here you will feel a strong Hawaii-esque influence as many of the guests are older folks from Hawaii. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, although the furniture and plumbing are showing their age. Be aware that not all the electrical outlets work, especially USB charging ports. The front desk and bell staff are friendly and helpful, as is the housekeeping staff. I always am pleased to be greeted with a “Good morning” from the housekeeper. There are decent restaurants on the premises and in the nearby Main Street hotel which adjoins the Cal via an enclosed walkway.”
“We really like that this casino is quieter than most on the strip, while still having lots of gambling action. There are nice options for eating, but also an easy walk to other casinos in the area. Ride share from this location was easy as well. The hotel is just a block off of the Fremont Street experience.”

“Room was clean and spacious but bathroom is very small. Decent dining options in hotel but only one is open after 10 pm creating long wait times around 11 pm - midnite. Parking is easy but can fill up fast during weekends.”

“The room was clean. The location is close to Fremont but far enough away to not hear it. The cocktail waitress showed up quickly and came by a lot to check. Overall, the entire staff has a wonderful attitude and very helpful. Ate on site and it was good.”

“Reception were not very welcoming I felt. Room was not bad, but when I opened up my wardrobe, there was a pair of mens used underwear in it. I told reception and they didn't seem to bothered, just got someone to remove them. No real apology or offer to say sorry. Casino floor has strong odours of smoke. Hotel has good location. Bell boy kept my bag for me after check out and they were very helpful. 50/50 if I'd stay again.”
“The California Hotel is close to everything Freemont has to offer. The location is key for someone who wants to tour around on foot and visit a number of Casinos and shops. Access to Hotel is excellent and the parking garage location and ease of access is a real bonus. Not to mention the cost of parking is included in the booking price of the room. I enjoyed my stay at the California and would stay there again.”

“We had 4 of us at the hotel and only 3 towels was available. Thought the shower amenities would have extras instead of one each. Just didn't want to call room service everyday for additional. Housekeeping personnel on the floor were very nice. Maybe Management should have better standards for families staying days at the hotel. Just saying. There's no photos of the room because the view was the back of a wall sign on the 11th floor.”
