“I have been to Las Vegas over many years since 2001 and usually stayed on the Strip. Stayed at the Golden Nugget in downtown Vegas in the VIP area for a wedding at a Country Club north of the hotel. What can I say? Either you may love this hotel or not- nothing in between. I did NOT like this hotel and will explain why. 1) Check-in is all automated with one person for about 50 people checking in 2) The rooms were nicely appointed, but in very dark tones, which did not work with dark curtains that we drew over the windows the whole time we stayed over 2 nights. Why? 3) The NOISIEST hotel/apartment I have ever slept in- and I live in NYC and used to be in a rock band. We stayed on a high-floor one floor shy of the penthouse and the sound from the hotel and the ambient noise from nearby hotels and streets permeated the entire room through the double panes windows and the air shaft in the room. The hotel provided earplugs next to each pillow with a cute explanation. It didn't matter- it was non- stop booming noise. 4) Price and Location Some people love downtown Las Vegas- I would have preferred the Strip. For all the hassles, the hotel was expensive for the environment. Sorry, but Syonara!”

“Large, unfriendly hotel in downtown Vegas. Would not recommend. Well located for Fremont and Mob Museum but $20 taxi to the Strip or 45 minute ride on Deuce bus. Other guests didn’t seem happy. Loud concert outside til midnight. Woken up by drunks in corridor later in night. Great sized room and complimentary water. No coffee making facilities. Staff disinterested and room wasn’t cleaned properly - previous guests’ floss stick on floor in bathroom. Hassled by aggressive guy from hotel who paces casino trying to sign you up to visit a refurbished Hilton.”

““La calle Fremont está muy degradada. Mucha gente en situaciones penosas por el consumo de sustancias u otras cuestiones. Muchos de ellos, dentro de las instalaciones del hotel, mayoritariamente en el casino y en los accesos, lo que hacía que la situación de inseguridad fuese constante. No recomendaría a día de hoy ningún hotel de la zona por este motivo, sin duda, me alojaría en el strip. Una pena porque es una zona que de verdad me gusta mucho y que tiene muchas cosas muy interesantes.””

“Stayed 5 days at Golden Nugget the first week of May. My husband and I haven’t been to LV in 15 years and when we do, we usually stay on the strip. We really enjoyed our stay in the Gold Tower. The room was very nice as was the casino. All the people were very nice. We just loved Kimber (bartender) and Brian (the doorman?). We want to give special thanks to Steve (security) and Bobby Lyons who helped us recover a lost item left in our room. They handled the situation very pro”
