“Do not stay at this hotel. If you do, take pictures of your entire stay. They will claim you left your room extremely dirty and that you had a pet in the room. Even if that is not true. They will charge you $250 on your credit card for cleaning and pet fee. Even if you don't own a pet and you left your room clean. I give it a thumbs down. Also their cafe food is horrible.”
“We have stayed at the Sunset Station at least five times this year and have had good experiences. We love the restaurants (Oyster Bar is awesome, and the Brass Fork serves an excellent breakfast, better than the other Station coffee shops), and there are plenty of our favorite video poker machines on the floor to keep us busy for days. Most of the casino and bars have been remodeled, and everything is light and bright, except for the abysmal nonsmoking area in the bowels of the casino! The sad-looking food court needs a revamp, though, as nothing was appealing. We have stayed in regular rooms and petite suites (which have a distant view of the Strip and a small seating area). Both rooms are fine, although they are starting to need a revamp. They are clean but are starting to look a little grubby and well-used. But the beds are still comfy and the towels fluffy, although we always have to ask for more than the allotted two sets. The bathrooms look quite dated, and getting out of the bathtub can be treacherous without grab bars or handrails (if this is important, ask for an accessible room). The staff is always cheerful and willing to accommodate requests. We had an incident where we splurged on a one-bedroom suite, but I don't know if it was the floor (10th) or if all had an issue with the windows blocked on the bottom half, but in order to look outside, one has to stand at the window and look out the top part. We downgraded to a petite suite, as not being able to see our view while sitting wasn't an option. As long as the hotel continues to offer us comped rooms, we'll keep staying there, as "free" is a very good price. We like that parking is free and close to the hotel entrance, though the stairs leading to the doors are a problem for those with rolling bags. The pool area is nice, although somewhat small. For those who want to stay off the Strip, this is a great location with plenty of shopping (including my favorite, Barnes & Noble) and restaurants.”
